How did the XYZ affair increase tension between France and America?

- The XYZ affair caused a fair amount of tension between France and America seeing as the French acted as though they were above the Americans refusing to speak to them in person. They only accepted talking to them in document form. Also, the French insisted upon the Americans paying them a 250,000 dollar bribe as well as a provide France with a 12 million dollar loan, all of which they expected before even starting to negotiate. This made the Americans feel as though they were considered below the French which cause the Americans to get angry. With John Adams new in the presidency dealing with an unhappy alliance was nothing something he wanted to get into however prepared his country for the worst. Building a far stronger army and creating a navy, this luckily was not used for that affair.

Were the Federalists justified in passing the Alien and Sedition Acts or were they a violation of the Constitution?

- The federalists who created the acts clearly were not justified. What they did was basically created and then passed an act allowing them to judge people. What gives them the right to go around judging people from their appearance? The federalist when bringing the acts to congress said they were to “promote national security”. However all passing these laws did was make local jails more crowded and towns emptier, seeing as everyone considered an alien or stuck someone as “odd” was either thrown in jail or was deported.

Were Kentucky and Virginia justified in their response to the Alien and Sedition Acts?

- Kentucky and Virginia illustrated proper acts of justice when responding to the Alien and Sedition Acts, seeing as they rejected the acts which were unjustified. After the acts had passed congress many people did not agree with what the acts represented nor did they approve of what they were doing to other innocent people living in their communities. Forcing them to move from the republican side to Thomas Jefferson’s Republican Party. In response to these acts being passed, Jefferson and Madison wrote their own acts against the acts, sending their resolutions to all the states. Kentucky and Virginia being two that had very positive responses.

Communist view of U.S. Constitution

1. The information given to us from the Soviet Union textbooks obviously include the authors personal opinion. The text book is basically stating the United States sucks, and offers no right what so ever to the people living there. According to this text book our right don't exist: " The freedoms exist even now on paper, but they are constantly violated". Clearly this author does not agree with anything that The United States has ever done, nor accomplished;" They dealt harshly with the revolutionary workers". The Soviet Union writers went back into the United States past just to make us look worse.

The entire article is clearly against the United States Constitution, the writer of this excerpt clearly does not agree with what the United States has done.

Most student's would assume that something as "powerful" like the bill of rights would not effect them at all what so ever. When really the bill of rights has a much larger effect on our education than most of us know. Not only does the Bill of Rights effect our actions in school but also our appearance as well as all of our rights we receive as a student. The bill of rights states everything that we can and can not do while on school grounds, therefor it defines all of our actions. The bill of rights kind of serves as a handbook for schools all over the United States it has a much larger impact on not only our schools but also our education than most people think. It effects everything that we do; our actions and the repercussions for those actions. Without the bill of rights our schools would be run with far less order and rules would be hard to maintain seeing as there is nothing really as powerful that could be enforcing them.

Electoral College

The electoral college does great things to help narrow down political parties. As well as giving each state their own sense of power however, currently the electoral college seems to becoming a bigger and bigger issue. Seeing as it depends on the population per state to determine the number of electoral votes for each state, is leaves the smaller states with a huge disadvantage. For the people living in small states they are left feeling completely powerless, as if their votes count for practically nothing. Bigger states are given more attention from each party of the representative's running for the presidency.

The electoral vote over powers the popular vote which in the past on several occasions (1887,1888,2000) has made a huge difference in the person elected president. Seeing as it's the people that the president is working for the people should be able to have a large say in who they are electing as their new president. I feel that the electoral system should be removed if not modified. It's something that can be fixed so why not fix it? Clearly there are several people that seem to find an issue with it so why not make the people happy and change it . We have the technology to make it possible to have each vote count. This would give the people comfort in knowing they were each able to have their own say in the elections. Also, this could very well attract more people to the voting poles.

During the American Revolution, alliances made a extensive impact on both sides. The British unlike the Americans had the Germans backing them up from the gecko, helping them not only in the field but with finances as well as supplies and other necessities needed to win a war. Benjamin Franklin was a very inspiring person who had a positive effect on many people. The Americans were extremely lucky to have someone like him on there team, seeing as without his presence the chance of the French forming an alliance with them was rather slim.

From the start of the war the British solders have brought everything they got to the table and stepped up to every battle, with backing down not an option. However the fact that they not only had German solders on there side, they also gained the loyalty as well as knowledge of the of the Native Americans. Who not only knew the land exceedingly well, but also disrupted their hunting and fighting tactics that were very different from anything Britain had ever used before,which caught the Americans extremely off guard.

Having all the alliances seemed to give the British an ample lead on the Americans however having the Natives join their formation resulted with strong repercussions later on. Jay Mcraie the finance to a Britain general was brutally murdered by a remaining unknown individual, whose actions were blamed on a Native American. The fact that a Native murdered an innocent woman terrified the colonist with the thought of all the things that could possibly happen to them. This thought persuaded many Americans into joining the army offering their own lives for the protection of others.

The murdering of Jay Mcraie unfortunately for the British lead to the growth and strength of the American troops. In most remaining battles of the American Revolution the Americans used their numbers to their own advantage, having more and more of their men show up during the battle which overwhelming the other squad forcing them to retreat. After this murder took place victory for the Americans appeared to become a standard routine seeing as the Americans now out numbered the British two to one.
